Chief justice lays base for ADRC building

TURA: Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice, Biswanath Somadder, on Friday unveiled the plaque for the foundation stone of the permanent building for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC) at Dakopgre in Tura, WGH.
Registrar General, High Court, E Kharumnuid; Registrar, Judicial Services, A Ripnar; District and Session Judge-cum-Member Secretary, MLSA Shillong, NA Khan; Commissioner and Secretary, Law department, W Khyllep; District and Session Judge and Judicial Officers of Garo Hills Region; West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh; Superintendent of Police, MGR Kumar; including heads of departments among others attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief justice said that the ADRC is the most effective way to bring to an end the long-drawn protracted litigation and the step forward is to give, or rather dedicate the centre to the local people of the area.
Somadder expressed hope that when completed, the ADRC will benefit the common man of the region by expediting the process of justice delivery.
Others who spoke on the occasion included West Garo Hills District and Sessions Judge Dashalin Kharbteng and DSLA Secretary, West Garo Hills, AM Pariat.
