JOWAI: Various NGOs in Jaintia Hills on Wednesday moved the East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, demanding an immediate formation of district task force.
The NGOs, comprising KJSU-JHDU, the FKJGP-JH and the HNYF-ER, also demanded of the DC to expedite the process of setting up an entry-exit point at Ratacherra village, East Jaintia Hills.
The NGOs, in their letter to the DC, expressed concern over the delay on part of the district administration to set up the entry-exit point in order to check influx.
Meanwhile, the DC has assured that the demands will be looked into.
