SHILLONG: The KHNAM has written to the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, seeking action against former Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy over his recent contentious tweet.
The KHNAM has also pointed out that the state and its citizens have been wrongly depicted by various individuals through the medium of social media.
It alleged that few individuals have also attempted to mislead the incumbent state governor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well are other citizens of the country.
Referring to one of the tweets by Roy, the KHNAM said, “Such a tweet amounts to an act which could have the effect of disturbing public tranquility or law and order by promoting enmity or creating fear or alarm between classes of people on basis of difference in religion, caste, language or place of birth”.
