Roads renamed
The state government has renamed the ‘Mawlai Bypass Road’ as ‘Founder Strong Cajee Road’ and the ‘Long Round Road’ from TSS Road junction to FCI godown as ‘Archbishop Dominic Jala Road’ with immediate effect.

Book release
A book entitled Ka Thup Spah ki Poetry Khasi, authored by Wanstep Diengdoh, will be released on November 2 by KHADC CEM, Titos Chyne, at the conference hall of KHADC. The book is a collection of poems penned on nature, Khasi heritage, the name and fame of Sohra and its past, present and future.

Bars to reopen
The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has allowed bars in the district to reopen from October 31 onwards with strict adherence to SOPs pertaining to COVID-19. An order issued on Friday said that the bars in the district will open from 1 pm to 8 pm.
