Provide electricity in Domiasiat: Hamlet to MeECL

SHILLONG: Cabinet Minister Hamletson Dohling has written to the chairman and managing director, MeECL, Lumjingshai urging them to provide electricity to the people in Domiasiat who have been deprived of power supply for a long time.
“I have seen the condition and hardship faced by the people of this village due to lack of electricity connection”, he wrote in the letter.
He added that there is no electricity supply in the villages despite the state government’s endeavour to implement various schemes of both state /central government to provide electricity to all household in the state Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGYJ) and Saubhagya scheme.
Dohling visited Domiasiat on October 20 where he met late Spility Lyngdoh Langrin. He also went to Nongbah Jynrin village in South West Khasi Hills to inspect the claims of uranium leaks.
