Selsella water supply scheme to be complete by March 2021

SHILLONG, Nov 11: The Greater Selsella Water Supply Scheme, sanctioned during the year 2013-2014 for Rs 1,204 lakh, is under progress.
Informing this during the question hour of the Assembly’s Autumn Session, Minister in charge of PHE, Renikton Tongkhar Lyngdoh, said that the total number of villages, which the scheme is proposed to cover, is 86.
He further informed that the revised estimate cost of the project amounts to Rs 1733.73 lakh and the expected time of completion is March 31, 2021.
Replying to a supplementary query by NPP MLA Ferlin Sangma on the delay of six years in completing the project, the minister said it was due to late payment, while adding that the first instalment was released on December 26 in 2012; second instalment on September 29, 2016; and the third instalment was received on October 9, 2017.
