Crime Update

Theft
Md Kadir, a driver of truck (UP-38(T)3757) lodged a complaint that on October 29, while returning from Mizoram, he stopped his truck at Shillong Bypass Road, Mawryngkneng, EKH, to cook food on the roadside. Later, while cooking food, three unknown persons came and sprayed with some unknown liquid on him and his handyman’s face, thereby making them unconscious. The next day around 1 pm, when he regained his senses, he found himself in his friend’s vehicle, who was proceeding to Kolkata and who had reportedly found him lying on the roadside. The victim then realized that his vehicle has been stolen.
Bosh N Arengh of Mangsang Rongchong village, EGH, lodged a complaint that on November 22 between 10.30 am to 12 noon, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (AS-15E-8711), which was parked at Rongjeng Bazar, EGH.
Winderson Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on November 21, unknown miscreant(s) stole his scooty (ML-09A-7590) from his garage at A’simchiring village, SGH.
Yadarisha Lating lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of November 21 and 22, unknown miscreants stole her scooty (ML-05T-5178), which was parked near Shillong College, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Balkan R Sangma lodged a complaint that on November 18 around 8 am, he parked his vehicle (ML-07-6011) at his office premises (Directorate of Fisheries, Cleve Colony, Shillong) and left for Resubelpara, NGH. However, on his return, he found that unknown miscreants stole speakers, spare tyre and bass tube from his vehicle.
Weningstar Jyrwa Nongsiej lodged a complaint that on November 20 between 7.30 pm and 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole his office bag containing documents and Rs 5,000 in cash from his Maruti alto car (ML-05L-6079) which was parked at Shillong Bar Association Premises.

Break-in
Harendra Sinha lodged a complaint that on November 23 evening, unknown miscreants broke into his garage at Boyce Road, Shillong, and stole his motorcycle (ML-05J-6971), bluetooth speaker and Rs 6,000 in cash.
Ranajoy Choudhury lodged a complaint that on November 18, unknown miscreants broke into his residence at Lower Lumparing, Shillong and stole gold items, computer monitor, brass items, copper items, etc.

Assault
Nongwan Lambok Nongsiej lodged a complaint that on November 22 around 8.50 pm, unknown miscreants in Chevrolet Beat car (ML-05H-1330) assaulted him at 7th Mile, Upper Shillong, and fled away.

Tombs destroyed
J Suchiang and three others lodged a complaint that on November 18, unknown miscreants destroyed more than 50 tombs at Catholic Cemetery, Lumpyrdi, Laskein, WJH.

Contraband seized
On November 18, acting on inputs, police intercepted one Bilgrang S Sangma (28) at Rongkhon, Tura. Later, police raided his house at Dakopgre, Tura, WGH, and seized 589 Yaba tablets.

Fraudulent transaction
Lovely Chanda lodged a complaint that on November 18 around 12.30 pm, she had gone to withdraw cash from SBI ATM at SBI Main Branch, Shillong. Later, she found that Rs 7,000 has been withdrawn from her account by unknown persons.
