Guv felicitates COVID-19 warriors

SHILLONG, Nov 28: The services rendered by the NCC cadets notwithstanding the peril of COVID-19 on Saturday were recognised, with Governor Satya Pal Malik felicitating them.
It may be mentioned that when COVID-19 scare was at a high-water mark and a nationwide lockdown was imposed, health workers, police, CAPFs, journalists, as well as the NCC cadets, among others, were actively engaged in playing their respective roles, closing their eyes to the apprehensions.
On Saturday, the Governor felicitated select NCC cadets and Associate Officers at Raj Bhavan for their contribution to the fight against COVID-19. He also acknowledged their efforts towards nation-building and various social activities.
Malik also stressed on the contribution of the NCC towards national integration and towards grooming disciplined and patriotic youths.
The ceremony kick-started with an introductory speech by the ADG, NCC, who apprised the attendees of various activities carried out by the NCC cadets in 2020.
Mooting expansion of the NCC services along the borders areas, he also thanked the state government for its support to facilitate NCC activities in the state.
