COVID-19 protocols relaxed in WGH

TURA, Dec 4: Providing some flexibility to COVID-19 protocols currently in place, West Garo Hills district administration has decided to give permission for holding of meetings/trainings of locality development committees, clubs and associations and also for ceremonies and functions, subject to a ceiling limit of 100 attendees or one-third of the capacity of venue, whichever is lesser.
In respect of private gatherings in residential areas, only 50 persons or one-third capacity of such a residential premise is permitted subject to receiving the assessment reports from the designated Sector Executive Magistrate.
The statement also directed the event organisers to maintain a register for all attendees for contact tracing and strict adherence to social distancing norms and respiratory etiquettes as per the protocols laid down by the Health & Family Welfare department.
