Guv reviews central schemes in EJH

JOWAI, Dec 8: Just few days after his visit to Garo Hills, Governor Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday undertook an unprecedented exploration of the Jaintia Hills region and reviewed the implementation of central government schemes.
Malik held a meeting at Circuit House, Jowai, with officers of the different departments under East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills and reviewed the performance of central schemes and programmes in the region.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills, SS Syiemlieh, and Extra Assistant Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills, MA Challam, apprised the governor of the status of the various Centre-sponsored schemes through a PowerPoint presentation.
The meeting was also attended by the deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
Interacting with the media persons, the Governor said the purpose of the meeting was to procure first-hand information pertaining to the implementation of central government schemes.
