SHILLONG, Dec 12: A day after Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced testing positive for COVID-19, DHS (MI) Dr Aman War on Saturday said that 28 people have been identified as the high-risk contacts of the chief minister.
War also informed that many politicians, bureaucrats, office staff, people from various NGOs and Dorbar Shnong had met Conrad before he tested positive.
With regard to vaccination campaign, he said the frontline workers have been insured to the tune of Rs 50 lakh.
He, however, asserted that people would still have to continue to comply with COVID-19 norms despite the availability of vaccine. War said unless majority of people are vaccinated, the adherence to COVID norms is imperative.
