People asked to come forward with info on EJH coal pit mishap

SHILLONG, Jan 25: East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner has urged the citizenry having information or evidence on the East Jaintia Hills coal pit mishap to file an affidavit and meet the Additional Deputy Commissioner SS Syiemlieh on March 1, 2 and 3 at his office chamber during office hours.
According to a statement on Thursday, an inquiry has been also been initiated into the mishap.
The accident took place in a coal pit in Rymbai Elaka of East Jaintia Hills on January 21, which had left six labourers dead.
The six labourers were all from Cachar and Karimganj districts of southern Assam’s Barak Valley.
