SCL Super Division: Nongthymmai defeat Khalsa by 9 wickets

SHILLONG, March 9: Nongthymmai CC registered a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over Khalsa in their Super Division Shillong Cricket League match here on Tuesday. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Khalsa managed a meagre 52 runs in 13 overs before being bowled out. Thanks to Vikash Sahani with his 11 runs and Jasveer Singh (10), Khalsa somehow managed to get to the 50-run mark. Man of the Match Reuben Najiar returned with impressive figures of 3/9 in 6 overs while Ranjeet Rai also claimed 3 wickets conceding 23 runs. Chasing an easy target of 53 runs, Nongthymmai achieved the score in just 8.3 overs losing a single wicket. Merlvin Mukhim top scored with an unbeaten 26 while Sandeep Chanda remained not out at 11 runs to see Nongthymmai home with a comfortable 9-wicket win.
Clarification: In yesterday’s report, it was mentioned that TNT Sputnik CC had defeated United XI by 69 runs in a Super Division match. However, United XI had defeated TNT Sputnik CC by 69 runs.
