NONGSTOIN, March 9: The Dorbar of Umiong village in Rambrai under West Khasi Hills on Tuesday petitioned the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, Nongstoin, for reopening of Umiong Church of God Lower Primary School, which has remained shut for almost six years now.
The village headman, K Sohshang, informed that the reason behind the shutdown of the school was due to the director of the school not acceding to the recommendations made the founder to relocate the school building to Nongkroh Rambrai village.
