MDC donates to school; meritorious students feted

SHILLONG, March 23: As part of its year-long silver jubilee celebrations, Phudmuri Presbyterian Higher Secondary School on Tuesday felicitated as many as 54 SSLC and 12 HSSLC students who sailed through the examinations conducted in 2020 by the Meghalaya Board of School Education.
Mawlai MDC Teibor Pathaw, who was the chief guest on the occasion, donated Rs 3 lakh to the school from the Excluded Area Scheme of the KHADC.
The meritorious students were presented with mementoes.
In his address, Pathaw urged the students to do away with the idea of dropping out of school.
“We have seen many students who consider it futile to complete their studies presuming that in the end they will not land up a job. We need to realise as students that it will be extremely difficult to achieve anything in life without completing their studies,” Pathaw stressed, while pointing out that it is very important to find an aim in life and enjoy in whatever they would be doing.
