DC exempts few services from Sunday curbs

SHILLONG, April 17: With order in effect for all shops and establishments to shut shop on Sundays, the East Khasi Hills District Magistrate (DM) has provided the public some relief in terms of availing essential commodities and cooked food on the days of curbs even as it said that petrol pumps, besides the aforementioned services, are also exempted from the order.
In an order, the district magistrate reminded the public that there must be strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols such as wearing of masks, physical distancing etc.
It may be mentioned here that the DM of East Khasi Hills had, on Friday, prohibited the opening of shops, commercial establishments and markets, on fixed premises or otherwise, in Shillong Agglomeration on Sundays till further order.
