TURA, May 13: West Garo Hills District Administration on Thursday issued an advisory for the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr in the district. The advisory has been necessitated in view of the steep rise in COVID-19 cases across the state.
According to the directive by West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, all prayers are to be offered from home and gatherings — at home or private places or visit by neighbours — have to be strictly avoided.
Singh also directed the revellers to conform to COVID-19 protocols and cautioned them against greeting each other by hugging, handshaking, etc.
Meanwhile, the ones with the history of interstate travel have been directed to strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols.

A legal aid helpline has been formed to assist the people who are in need of help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
