Public notice
The Shillong Electric Crematorium in Jhalupara will remain closed on Thursday and Friday owing to a defect in the furnace caused by its overuse, informed Greater Shillong Crematorium and Mortuary Society in a statement on Wednesday. “Efforts are on to bring the necessary spare parts from Guwahati tomorrow (Thursday) to repair the damaged portion of the furnace. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” the statement said.

Vax drive
The Directorate of Information and Public Relations has urged upon all media personnel who have not received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to visit JN Stadium (Annex) between 10 am and 5 pm for vaccination.

Condolence
The Community COVID-19 Management Team (CCMT) of Jhalupara has condoled the demise of Jeet Bahadur Gurung (Bugana Lama), a religious leader, who has contributed immensely to the society. “The CCMT Jhalupara thanks all the individual, members and organisation who have voluntarily come forward to help the family members during the time of crisis. The CCMT also thanks the district administration including the municipal staff and volunteers who assisted the family members to perform the rituals,” a statement issued here said.

The Shillong Manipuri Students’ Union has appealed to the students from Manipur, who are stranded or stationed in Meghalaya, to intimate the Union for relief. In a statement, such people have been urged to mail the Union at [email protected] or contact via WhatsApp at 7005331462 and mention their issues along with their present and permanent address.
