NONGPOH, July 17: Police on Saturday arrested president of the Confederation of Ri Bhoi People (CORP), central body, along with his accomplices for allegedly manhandling workers and damaging properties of two petrol pumps in the district.
As per sources, it was alleged that Ryntathiang and with his accomplices —Johnfess Lakhiat and Shining Kyntla — had gone to the Umkrukru Service Station at Umdohbyrthih on Friday around 9:30 pm and manhandled workers of the petrol pump and damaged the window panes of the office.
The trio, after leaving Umkrukru Service Station, then reportedly went to Nongpluh Service Station, located at Lumdaitkhla Bhoirymbong.
It was also alleged that the trio manhandled the workers, and damaged the office window panes and refilled fuel in their vehicles without paying money.
Following the ruckus, the management of the Nongpluh Service Station approached the village durbar of Lumdaitkhla Bhoirymbong. The village authority then on Saturday morning registered a police complaint against the trio.
Based on the complaint, the trio was arrested.
