AMPATI, July 24: A self-help group cluster meet for livelihood promotion and an awareness-cum-COVID vaccination drive was on Friday organised at Betasing, South West Garo Hills, during which 80 people were inoculated against COVID-19.
According to a statement on Saturday, the one-day programme was organised by the Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), Betasing, in collaboration with Health department.
Dr Nokman A Sangma, AH&VO Betasing Block, during the programme, encouraged the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) to facilitate more self-help groups to promote livelihood activities in order to achieve sustainable goals.
Medical and Health Officer, Betasing PHC, Dr Sandip Ch Sangma, on the other hand, enlightened the gathering on COVID-19 vaccination.
Citing the advantages of vaccination, he encouraged all eligible people to get inoculated against COVID-19.
He also cautioned one and all against falling prey to hearsays.
Following the conclusion of the programme, the dignitaries visited the SHG stalls where different types of SHG products were displayed.
