SHILLONG, July 30: Shillong MP Vincent H Pala on Friday asserted that there was nothing legal about the NPP-led MDA coalition if one goes by the list of illegal activities that are taking place in the state.
“Illegal weighbridges, illegal coke factories, illegal mining and transportation of coal, and the list goes on. There is nothing legal in the government. They are not thinking of unemployment issue and other burning issues,” Pala said.
He observed that the coalition is only involved in blame game with one ally blaming another like the UDP is blaming Power Minister James Sangma of the NPP.
Talking about the coke factories, he said that the Industries department had given the license for coke factories but since so much money is being demanded by the minister and officers, people have now set them up illegally.
Shifting his attention to the recent visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the state and the inauguration of the interstate bus terminal, Pala said, “There is no seriousness on the part of the government as they called him (Shah) for no work and since there was no work so they hurriedly decided to find some work.”
