SHILLLONG, July 31: Opposition leader Mukul Sangma has asked the coalition parties in the MDA government to decide on whether or not they are interested in safeguarding the interests of the people and the state.
Speaking to the reporters on Saturday, the Opposition leader, in the wake of BJP leader AL Hek’s removal from the Cabinet, has said the allegations of corruption and irregularities are giving rise to such political developments in the state.
Claiming that the list of allegations of corruption and irregularities is spiralling, he said, “These are well-scripted modus operandi designed to achieve an objective against the interest of the people of the state and hence these political developments are on.”
Revealing that there are many in the government who are disconcerted with the allegations, he said such allegations will always result in push and pulls in a political system.
Reacting to Hek’s ouster from the Cabinet, Mukul expressed surprise on how these things are allowed to continue.
“We were expecting to see some light at the end of the tunnel but here I see a long tunnel with no end,” he added.
