SHILLONG, Aug 23: Following a report alleging that students at NEIGRIHMS are being locked up inside the campus for over three months in order to ensure their safety, as claimed by the institute, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, MBBBS students of NEIGRIHMS have clarified that the report highlighted in this paper was not the outlook of the entire student community of the institute.
In a statement, they said that “there was neither a common consensus or any prior discussion or intimation that such an article was to be published in the newspaper. We believe it was an individual act. We the MBBS students, strongly condemn this act that tarnishes the public image of our administration and the institute”.
“We therefore, would like to apologise for whatever has been stated in the name of ‘all students’. We’d further like to clarify that this wasn’t done or part of all students contrary to the statement on the newspaper and are ready to support any legal inquiry into this matter,” the statement added.
