Theft
Abdul Kayum lodged a complaint that on August 22, unknown miscreants stole his scooter (ML-05B-9974) which was parked on the roadside near Assamese LP School, Laban.
Denis Ryntathiang of Shilliang Ktieh, Sohiong, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint on August 21 that unknown miscreants entered his godown and stole goods/tools valued around Rs 6,53,000.
Salim Sangma lodged a complaint that on August 20, unknown miscreants stole 24 battery cells, valued around Rs two lakh, from a mobile tower at Phramer Lad Pasyih, West Jaintia Hills.
Paulrin Sohtun lodged a complaint that on August 25 between 1 am and 4 am, unknown miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05S-0686) from his residential compound at Pomlakrai village, East Khasi Hills.
Mac Donald Kurkalang lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of August 25 and 26, unknown miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05R-0287) from his residential compound at Nongdalum Umphyrnai, East Khasi Hills.

Cattle seized
It is reported that on August 20 between 1 am to 3 am, personnel of 123 Bn BSF of BOP Ryngku, East Khasi Hills, detected and seized three numbers of cattle, valued around Rs 42,000, from near Border Pillar No. 1225/2-S along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Coal trucks detected
Joshwa Kharumnuid, Assistant Mines & Royalty Inspector, DMR check gate, Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on August 20 around 8:30 pm, two trucks (AS-09-AC-4199 and NL-01K-5637) were detected transporting coal without proper challans at the check gate.
