SHILLONG, Sep 5: Adviser to Chief Minister and former Cabinet Minister, AL Hek has asked the state government not to delay the inquiries it ordered.
The BJP leader said on Sunday that the government must ensure that the process of probe starts early in each case. Justice should prevail and government must ensure justice for the people, he categorically stated.
Separate inquiries have been ordered into an alleged rice scam, corruption and irregularities in the Power department and the recent killing of Cheristerfield Thangkhiew.
Asked if he has been approached by state Congress president Vincent Pala to join the party, Hek said he was approached much before but he is not joining the party at this juncture.
Talking about the Congress’s resolution seeking the ouster of Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, Hek said the BJP is for anything which is in the best interest of the people. He, however, refused to comment clearly if he will support the move.
