SHILLONG, Sep 22: As a change is anticipated in the political bandwagon of Meghalaya, the lone Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA, Saleng Sangma, has reaffirmed that his allegiance lies with the NCP and has pledged to revive the party.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Saleng Sangma said that he plans to show others his principle which is to stick with his party and asserted to jumping from one political party to another is not good.
“I will try to revive the party though most of the leaders in North East have shifted to other parties. The NCP headquarters in New Delhi should be serious about it,” he said.
Asked about a possible rift within the Congress, he said that there is definitely a division in the grand old party, even as he maintained that there have always been problems in the Congress. “I was a Congress minister and even other leaders like Sniawbhalang Dhar, Comingone Ymbon and Prestone Tynsong were ministers but there were a lot of divisions in the party even at that time,” he said.
