Six coal-laden trucks seized in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH, Sep 28: Acting on a tip off, Ri Bhoi Police on Tuesday seized six trucks for illegally transporting coal from a forest located between 18th Mile and 19th Mile in the district.
The coal-laden trucks were parked inside the jungle at a distance from the highway.
The trucks were later brought to Byrnihat Police Outpost and a case has been registered, police said.
It may be mentioned that earlier, the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner had prohibited movement of coal-laden trucks from Patharkhmah-Umling road as well as other internal roads of the district.
