Cattle trader attacked, robbed

TURA, Oct 19: A cattle trader from Bholarbhita village of Phulbari in West Garo Hills was left grievously injured and his money purloined after he was attacked by unidentified miscreants in a remote village in Damal Asim area of Dadenggre on Monday.
The victim, Shahazamal Sk alias Elu, had gone to purchase cattle from the hills with a substantial amount of money when he was attacked near the village of Rongmasugre in Damal Asim.
The assailants, who were apparently aware of Shahazamal carrying cash for the purchase of cattle, attacked him with sharp weapons.
Left with injuries on his body, he was initially taken to Dadenggre hospital, and later referred to Tura and then to Guwahati. An FIR has been lodged in this regard. However, no witness has come forward so far.
