TURA, Oct 23: Members of All Meghalaya 4th Teachers’ Association, Garo Hills unit, recently met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma at Selsella and submitted a reminder of their demand for salary hike.
The Association members met the chief minister during the latter’s campaign for the upcoming by-election to Rajabala.
“We had met the ministers many times but all our demands have fallen on deaf ears. We urged the government to fulfill our demands given that prices of all commodities are rising nowadays,” the Association said.
It may be mentioned that the SSA teachers are demanding pay hike as per the proposal of the Director of School Education and Literacy (DSEL), which has reportedly been sent four times to the chief minister as well as the education minister.
