Guv now patron of state’s Bharat Scouts & Guides

SHILLONG, Oct 29: Governor Satya Pal Malik has been inducted as the Chief Patron of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides during a programme at Raj Bhavan on Friday.
A statement in this regard informed that the Governor, during the programme, also expressed hope that he will lend support to Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Lauding the Bharat Scouts and Guides for its contribution in the fight against COVID-19 and supporting various central government initiatives such as Fit India Movement, Khelo India and Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, Malik urged its members to continue with their initiatives for the betterment of the society.
State Chief Commissioner, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, DP Wahlang, on the other hand, informed that the Meghalaya Chapter of Scouts and Guides Movement has issued directives to all schools, colleges and universities to identify faculty members and to pep up students so that they join the Scouts and Guides and form units in their respective institutions.
Cultural activities were also performed during the programme.
