SHILLONG, Nov 13: New Dawn Meghalaya (NDM) on Friday organised an induction programme for prospective members in Ri Bhoi.
A statement in this regard informed that 25 new members entered the NDM fold during the induction programme, which was also attended by members of NDM central body.
NDM president, Avner Pariat, during the programme, spoke about various principles and ideologies by which NDM stands. Pariat also encouraged the gathering to be unfazed and resilient in their service towards the society.
Advocating the use of constitutional methods and deliberations to address modern-day issues, he said the NDM repudiates the notion that issues must be addressed by way of violence, high-handedness or anything unlawful.
“This is now the age of the khlakhulom (pen warriors), not the khlawait (sword warriors),” Pariat said.
It was also informed during the programme that the NDM will organise various statewide events in order to further encourage and motivate people to come forward and oppose wrong and crooked practices.
