TURA, Dec 5: The All Meghalaya Minority Students Union (AMMSU) has sought the intervention of Power Minister Prestone Tynsong with regard to the re-connection of the BPL and General Electrification of Shidakandi Chak and Shidakandi Village which was suddenly cut off by the MeECL recently.
In its memorandum addressed to Tynsong, the union said that the abrupt move by the MeECL would badly affect the students of the SSLC and HSSLC, the selection tests for which were currently going on. According to the union, the power connection to the said areas was suddenly disconnected by the concerned department on December 2 without any information to the consumers in view of defaulting payment of bills.
The union urged Tynsong to direct the authorities of the MeECL, Phulbari Subdivision to restore both lines as soon as possible.
