Natl Lok Adalat takes up 1,093 cases in 11 dists

SHILLONG, Dec 11: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority on Saturday organised National Lok Adalat in eleven districts during which 639 pre-litigation cases and 454 pending cases were taken up for settlement.
According to a statement on Saturday, the National Lok Adalat was organised under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and under the patronage of Chief Justice of Meghalaya  High Court, Justice Sanjib Banerjee, and under the supervision of Meghalaya High Court judge, Justice HS Thangkhiew, who is also the executive chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
The statement further informed that a total of Rs 62,78,327 was settled in the National Lok Adalat.
