Third Div Cricket League kicks-off

SHILLONG, Dec 20: The Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) Third Division cricket season got underway at the 2nd Ground in Polo Grounds, here on Monday.
In the first match, Bogy’s Sports handed Solidarity Club a 6-wicket defeat. Solidarity Club won the toss and elected to bat first putting up 77/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Sahil top-scored for Solidarity with 17 off 22 deliveries, while Ayush Rawat contributed 12. Ramsarkar took 2/19 in 3 overs as Bogy’s Sports hammered 78/4 in only 8.3 overs.
Chasing the modest total, Man of the Match Sajan Maghaiya smashed 27 off just 10 deliveries. For Solidarity Club, Girish returned figures of 2/24.
The second match saw Mawsynram BSA beat Green Age by 6 wickets. Green age won the toss and batted first, before being bowled out for 75 in 13.3 overs. Jonathan Rymbai was the top scorer with 18 while Da-U-labiang claimed impressive figures of 4/19 for Mawsynram.
In reply, Mawsynram BSA scored 76/4 in 10.2 overs. Standing scored 19 runs while Rudy added 18 to take their side to victory. Balajied took 2/19.
Da-U-labiang was adjudged Man of the Match for his bowling.
