Guwahati, Jan 5: The Assam chief electoral officer (CEO) on Wednesday published the Final Electoral Roll 2022 comprising names of 2.37 crore electors.
Out of the 2, 37, 10,834 final electors, 1, 19, 56211 are male electors, 1, 17, 54,222 are female electors while 401 are transgender electors.
It may be mentioned that the Integrated Draft Electoral Roll was published on November 1, 2021 comprising 2, 34, 02,833 electors.
Thereafter, the process of claims and objections commenced till November 30, 2021 and was finally disposed by December 20, 2021.
“During the process of Special Summary Revision 2022, a total of 5, 25, 729 forms (Form 6) were received for enrolment as New Voter, out of which 5,00,791 were accepted and 24,938 have been rejected,” a statement issued by Assam chief electoral officer Nitin Khade, said.
Additionally, 2, 02, 430 numbers of form 7 were received, either for deletion of an entry or to raise an objection to a name in the Draft Electoral Roll. As many as 1,92, 790 forms have been accepted while 9,640 forms have been rejected.
The net addition in the Final Electoral Roll from the Draft Electoral Roll is 3,08,001 (1.32 percent).
“According to the Final Publication, the Electoral Population Ratio (EPR) in the Final Electoral Roll, 2022, is 635 and the Gender Ratio (GR) stands at 983. The EPR and GR saw an improvement over the Draft ER, wherein the ratios were 626 and 979 respectively,” the statement said.
Besides, the total number of electors in the age cohort of 18 to 19 years is 4, 79,133. The total number of electors over the age of 80 years is 3, 01, 110 while that of persons with disabilities (PwD) is 1,63,151, out of which 83,308 are male, 79, 828 female while 15 are transgender.
The CEO informed that there was extensive use of technological interventions for maximum voter enrollment and engagement in an effort towards building an all-inclusive electoral process under the aegis of the Election Commission of India.
“Electors were also enrolled by uploading their forms through Voter Helpline App, National Voter Service Portal and Online Voters Registration Portal. In order to ensure faster, smarter, transparent and timely completion of work, the booth-level officers made extensive use of the GARUDA app, which further helped in paperless work,” the statement from the CEO said.
