Royal, Sixers, Halla Bol come out on top

SHILLONG, Jan 5: In a day that witnessed a series of convincing results, Royal CC, Shillong Sixers and Halla Bol Jr all emerged victorious in their respective matches during the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament, here on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Royal CC were put into bat first by Vidhya SC before scoring 69 runs in the allotted 6 overs.
In reply, Vidhya could only manage 24 runs, handing Royal a 45-run win. Rajesh Tati was the Player-of-the-Match.
The second match saw Vintage United take on Shillong Sixers, who won the toss and batted first, scoring 80 runs in 6 overs.
Vintage United did well in their chase but were restricted to 58 runs in 6 overs with Suraj Chettri winning the Player-of-the-Match award.
Halla Bol Jr registered the biggest win of the day, defeating Sales XI by 66 runs. Put into bat first, Halla Bol Jr posted an imposing 86 runs in 6 overs.
Chasing was always going to be difficult as Sales XI were then bowled out for 20 runs in 4.4 overs. Pankaj Yadav was the Player-of-the-Match.
