HSPDP’s Hill State Movement leaders likely to get feted

SHILLONG, Jan 18: The HSPDP, on Tuesday, called upon Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to acknowledge the contribution of the party’s leaders in the Hill State struggle through felicitation, besides erecting a monument and naming a college or a university in the name of HSPDP Supremo, (late) Hopping Stone Lyngdoh.
Soon after meeting Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, HSPDP chief, KP Pangniang, said that they have been assured that their concerns will be looked into and that the HSPDP leaders and members who had contributed in the struggle and even spent time in jail will be felicitated anytime within this year since of late the schedule is tight statehood day celebration has a tight schedule.
Pangniang further informed that the Chief Minister has assured them that their demand for erecting a monument or naming a college or a university in the name of its late leader in West Khasi Hills will also be considered.
