Moderate earthquake jolts NE

Shillong, Jan 22: A moderate intensity  earthquake of  magnitude 5.6 in the Richter Scale jolted the North East region at around 3.42 pm today. However, there was no report of any damage or loss of life reported due to the quake so far.

The earthquake originated at a depth of 60 km at a location along India-Myanmar border section in Mizoram having coordinates –Latitude 23.10 N and Longitude 93.75 E.
