SHILLONG, Jan 25: A group of four youths, who were allegedly assaulted by a mob which had accused them of being Menshohnoh (black magic practitioners) in Mawsynram earlier this month, has demanded action against the residents of Laitumsaw, Mawsynram.
The four youths, while narrating the incidents to media persons here on Tuesday, said that they had a narrow escape.
They said that some people attempted to stop them at Laitumsaw on that day. On reaching Tlongpleng, en route to Mawsynram, a mob blocked their way with big stones and later handed them over to villagers at Laitumsaw, the youths said.
They also stated that the villagers continued to accost them alleging that they were Menshohnoh.
It may be noted that the four youths had filed an FIR on January 12 and an inquiry was initiated by the police in the case.
