Nongpoh, Feb 7: Everything is not well with the United Democratic Party, Ri Bhoi District. This can be seen during the Special Executive Meeting of the party held at Iewmawlong village where few top leaders of the party choose to be absent during the crucial meeting.
Reliable sources informed that the top leaders who fail to attend Monday’s meeting may perhaps join the National People’s Party (NPP) in the upcoming days along with other party members.
These top leaders include Rayonald Kharkamni, Vice President, UDP Ri Bhoi, Lawrence Nongrum, General Secretary, UDP Ri Bhoi and Sumarlang Swer, President of the UDP Youth Wing, Ri Bhoi District.
The expected desertion of these leaders will undoubtedly have a negative impact to the UDP in the upcoming assembly polls in 2022.
