Ex-servicemen rally at ARC Happy Valley

SHILLONG, Feb 13: An ex-servicemen rally at Assam Regimental Centre, Happy Valley, is scheduled for Tuesday dedicated to the “veterans of Meghalaya, who have selflessly served the Defence forces throughout their lives”, a statement issued here informed.
The rally is going to be organised by the Indian Army along with Rajya Sainik Board, Meghalaya.
The rally will focus on addressing grievances of ex-servicemen along with provision of medical camp for the veterans, it added.
“It is customary for the defence forces to facilitate the brave hearts, who have ensured freedom, peace and prosperity of the nation through their lifelong altruistic service. The rally will also be an attempt to enlighten the veterans about a number of welfare schemes provided by Indian Defence Forces and the Government of India,” the statement said.
The state government, Indian Army and Rajya Sainik Board have urged all veterans to participate in the rally.
