MeSCMA member to officiate as judge in natl competition

SHILLONG, Feb 23: Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA) assistant secretary, Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih from Upper Lumparing has been selected to officiate as a judge in the Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship scheduled to take place from Feb 22–26 at Jamshedpur. The championship is being organised by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF). Nongkynrih, the only qualified national judge from Meghalaya, has officiated in several national championships including the Asian Championship. Sport climbing has begun to garner widespread interest since its inclusion in the Olympic Games, making its debut in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 2024 Paris Olympics is, in fact, expected to witness even larger participation in sport climbing.
