Tongkhar unveils devp schemes worth Rs 2.42 cr for Mawkyrwat

MAWKYRWAT, Feb 24: Mawkyrwat MLA and PHE Minister, Renikton L Tongkhar, on Thursday, released different development schemes and projects for Mawkyrwat Constituency under the Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP) for the year 2020-21, at a cost of Rs 2.42 crore.
To ensure transparency, Tongkhar listed all schemes and beneficiary names (for public schemes) in a flex which he unveiled during a programme organised here.
The schemes include construction of public toilets, motorable roads, playgrounds, VIP gallery, washing ponds, parking space, market, retaining wall, fencing, school buildings, footbridges, footpaths, ponds, etc.
Tongkhar had also allotted Rs 62.50 lakh for 625 beneficiaries as assistance for poultry and piggery farming, Rs 32 lakh for purchasing
CGI sheets for 200 people in which each family will get three bundles of sheet, Rs 15 lakh as assistance for 150 single mothers, Rs 8 lakh as assistance in the form of scholarship for 80 students, Rs 6.50 lakh for purchasing 65 sets of carpenter tools & equipment for 65 beneficiaries and Rs 1 lakh for purchasing 10 sewing machines for as many beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Tongkhar expressed gratefulness in releasing the scheme which had been delayed because of the pandemic.
