Awareness programme for WJH farmers

SHILLONG, Feb 26: The Research Extension Centre, Shillong, in collaboration with Department of Sericulture & Weaving, on Friday organised an awareness programme for farmers in Kdiap village, West Jaintia Hills.
According to a statement, the programme was attended by 50 women sericulture farmers.
“The package of practices for mulberry cultivation to produce quality mulberry leaves, importance of chawki rearing, disinfection and maintenance of hygiene in rearing, and the late age rearing management practices for successful bivoltine crop harvest were explained in a detailed manner to the beneficiaries,” the statement said, adding that new technologies developed by the Research Institute were also detailed to the farmers during the programme.
