Curtain falls on week-long fest on Science & Tech

TURA, Feb 28: ‘Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate’, the week-long Festival of Science & Technology, concluded with the National Science Day celebration 2022 at the Tura Science Centre recently.
The weeklong programme which was organized by the State Council of Science, Technology& Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya, in collaboration with Meghalaya Science Society saw the participation of students from 10 schools where they attended lectures, presentations, demonstrations on different scientific themes and competitions like Quiz, Extempore, Slogan writing, Essay writing, Science Models etc. followed by screening of online films on different scientific phenomenon and scientific personalities.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion in the presence of Don Bosco College Principal Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim who was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking during the programme, Ram Singh urged the students to take up challenges in Science, Mathematics and Technology so that they can excel in competitive exams like JEE, NEET etc.
Guest of Honour Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim inspired the students and urged them to study hard and become successful in life.
As part of the programme, meritorious students from Garo Hills region, who scored the highest in Science and Technology and Mathematics in last years’ SSLC and HSSLC examinations 2021 were also felicitated in an effort to motivate them.
