The office of the District Social Officer, East Khasi Hills district in collaboration with the Indira Mahila Seng Longkmie, Umpling, Shillong will observe International Women’s Day at Iing Dorbar Shnong, Umpling from 11 AM on March 8.
Workshop
On the occasion of National Safety Day, the department of Tourism and Travel Management in collaboration with Dr H Gordon Roberts hospital will organise a workshop on ‘First Aid in Tourism’ in MLCU Hall, Nongrah from 9:30 AM on March 4.
Unclaimed body
The body of an unknown male person, aged around 45-50 years, was recovered from Wahumkhrah river at 6.13 PM on February 26. All legal formalities including inquest have been observed and the body has been sent to M&HO Civil Hospital, Shillong for PM examination. The cadaver has been kept at Civil Hospital Morgue Room, Shillong. All concerned who can identify the deceased can contact 2222214/2222215 for claiming the body.
