Inspection of police outposts at Laban, Rilbong

SHILLONG, March 13: A meeting-cum-joint inspection of the Rilbong Beat House and Laban Police Station as well as their respective police staff quarters was conducted by South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai along with the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, and other officials for the renovation and painting work on the existing old police staff quarters. In the meeting, a proposal was made for the construction of annex building-cum-parking facilities and police staff quarters at the two police outposts.
The MLA handed over work order to the contractor M/S JTR Enterprise, sanctioned for an amount of Rs 19.30 lakh and issued by MGCC Ltd for construction of building of accessibility for persons with disability in Laban police station building.
In the meeting, it was also decided to regulate the flow of traffic including parking and no parking zones in the entire stretch of PWD Road from Laban Sports Club Indoor Stadium till Pine Mount School junction.
