AITC has bolstered its grassroots: MLA

MAWKYRWAT, March 21: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has, in recent past, been successful in bolstering its base in many parts of Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi by setting up block committees aplenty.
This was informed by party MLA HM Shangpliang during a programme to set up Ranikor Block Committee of AITC.
The programme was attended by AITC president Charles Pyngrope, AITC vice president James Lyngdoh, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Shangpliang said the AITC has already laid a strong base in various parts of Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
“It is true that in the last few months, many prominent leaders from different constituencies have come to meet us and seek tickets to contest the upcoming 2023 election from the TMC,” he said.
Airing his content, Shangpliang stated that people of Meghalaya have accepted AITC. He also assured that the party will choose only those leaders that have a clean record.
The office-bearers that were elected for the TMC Ranikor Block Committee include Savio Phrangsngi Dkhar as president, Binarson D Shira as vice president, Jacques A Sangma as general secretary, John Teibor Sangriang as joint secretary, among others.
