Two in police net over robbery

SHILLONG, March 23: Police have arrested two persons in connection with a robbery case which took place on November 19, 2021, at Mawkhanu Service Station. It may be mentioned that the robbery incident had left in its wake two staff sustaining bullet injuries. The robbers had also decamped with Rs two lakh. In this connection, police on March 7 arrested two persons in this connection, viz. Barabor Namsaw alias Kyrshan Makri from Police Bazaar and Bhaijan Warbah from Mawkasiang village. A bike (AS-01BH-5342) was also seized from the possession of Namsaw, which was reportedly used during commission of crime.
However, it was furtherr reported that Namsaw escaped from police custody on March 8 only to be nabbed by the police on March 23 anew.
Along with Namsaw, one Khraw Shylla from Nongmensong was also arrested. The duo is reportedly involved in cases of bike thefts in the city.
