Ri Bhoi worst-affected district in recent cyclonic storm

Shillong, April 21: Meghalaya’s Minister in-charge of Disaster management, Kyrmen Shylla has informed that a total of 10,263 people have been affected, 160 houses completely destroyed and four deaths recorded due to the inclement weather from April 1 to April 19.

He also informed that 2,199 houses were partly destroyed. Destruction and death of livestock had also been registered.

The worst-affected district was Ri Bhoi followed by West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills.
